Galatasaray came close to signing Darmian last summer and have been chasing the 25-year-old for the past two seasons.
The Istanbul giants agreed personal teams with the Italian defender but were unable to match Torino’s €12 million demands. Galatasaray’s improved offer of €7 million was turned down by the Serie A club.
Darmian is a versatile defender who is capable of playing as a right back and as a central defender.
The 25-year-old provided four assists and scored five goals in 46 appearances for Torino last season. Darmian also has made 13 appearances for the Italian national team. Darmian has also previously played for AC Milan, Palermo and Padova.
