The former Arsenal striker Ian Wright took to twitter to heap praise on the Gunners playmaker Mesut Özil following his performance against Lyon.
The Gunners recorded an emphatic 6-0 victory over Lyon last week with goals coming from Giroud, Oxlade Chamberlain, Iwobi, Ramsey, Cazorla and Özil.
Özil provided the assist for Olivier Giroud’s opener via a well placed free-kick. Özil also set up Aaron Ramsey goal towards the end of the half which ended in a 4-0 scoreline. The 26-year-old went on to score a well placed half volley to put his side 5-0 up.
Ian Wright posted the following picture on twitter with the caption, “He just can’t stop feeding! Great performance boys.”
Wright achieved legendary status as a player, the former England international lifted the Premier League title, both major domestic trophies, and the European Cup Winners Cup during his time at the North London based club.
The former Arsenal star finished 4th in 50 Greatest Gunners list on the Arsenal website in 2008.
Özil nine assists and five goals in 32 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions last season.
