Arsenal star Mesut Özil has stated that the Gunners are stronger then they were last season.
The 26-year-old has tipped his side to finish higher than they did last season which was in third place.
“For my liking, we are better than last season,” Ozil told SID
“And I think that this year we trust ourselves to improve [the place in the league] a bit this season.”
The former Real Madrid man suffered a knee injury last season keeping him out from October to January. Özil has been in good form since recovering from his injury winning two Vitality Arsenal Player of the Month and a PFA Fans Player of the Month award.
Özil has already won three trophies this summer including the FA Cup, the Barclays Asia Trophy and most recently the Emirates Cup. Arsenal could add to their silverware next week when they take on Chelsea in the Community Shield.
The World Cup winner scored and provided two assists during Arsenal’s 6-0 win over Lyon on Saturday.
Özil provided nine assists and five goals in 32 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions last season.
