Germany national team manager Joachim Low praised Lukas Podolski’s decision to leave Arsenal over the summer and join Galatasaray.
Low underlined that Podolski was in need of encouragement and that Turkish fans will boost his confidence.
The Germany international is also likely to get more playing time at his new club.
“Lukas Podolski relies heavily on getting regular game time, something which was no longer guaranteed at Arsenal, and I know that he’ll get a lot of encouragement from Turkish football and the fans over there,” Low told the official Germany national team website.
Podolski got his Galatasaray career off to a great start winning the Super Cup on his debut against Bursaspor.
The Lions beat the Green Crocodiles 1-0 to sweep the board in terms of domestic trophies. Galatasaray won the league, the Turkish Cup and the Super Cup.
Galatasaray will also particiapte in the Champions League group stages for the fourth consecutive season.
The World Cup winner is expected to feature as a first team regular in the Galatasaray team this season and will be the sole Germany national team representative in the side.
Galatasaray kick-off their 2015-16 season against Sivasspor on the weekend.
