Mesut Özil has stated that Scotland cannot stop Germany when the two sides face each other in the clash between the two sides later today.
Scotland host the World Cup winners at Hampden Park at 19:45 (GMT).
“I think we deserve to be at the top of the group. Now we have to go further on Monday,” Özil told the Daily Mail.
“We know it will be a tough game because Scotland will fight until the 90th minute. But if we show what we can then Scotland won’t be able to stop us.”
Özil’s side have won their last four games and sit at the top of Group D with 16 points in seven games.
Germany have scored 19 and conceded just five goals so for in the qualification stages.
Özil is expected to feature in Germany’s clash with Scotland with Joachim Löw set to field the Arsenal playmaker in his favoured number 10 role behind the striker.
The 26-year-old missed Arsenal’s clash with Newcastle due to a knee injury last week but is expected to play his second game in four days later today.
The World Cup winners return from injury will be a boost to Arsenal fans. The Gunners were the only club from the top five European leagues not to sign an outfield player during the summer transfer window.
