Turkey national team left back İsmail Köybaşı has stated that the team is not feeling the effects of the 4-0 defeat against Brazil on Wednesday.
The Besiktas player spoke to reporters ahead of Sunday’s game with Kazakhstan
“We haven’t been talking or thinking about the Brazil game, we are fully focused on winning Sunday’s game against Kazakhstan. This game is very important for us all,” Köybaşı said.
“Our manager [Fatih Terim] has motivated us all. We know the best way to raise our own self confidence is to win games.
“This is why the Kazakhstan game carries extra importance. If we can string together some victories in the group we may still have a chance to qualify. We want to show the country that we can play well.”
Turkey are currently last in Group A with one point after three games. The Crescent-Stars have lost two and drawn just one of their last three qualification games.
