Who can forget Hamit Altintop’s wonder goal against Kazakhstan back in in 2010.
Altintop was awarded Fifa’s Puskas Award for Goal of the Year for this astonishing volley.
The 31-year-old was presented with the award by Andrei Sidelnikov, the Kazakh goalkeeper who had the dubious pleasure of picking the ball out of the net after the former Bayern Munich player’s volley flew into the back of the net.
Altintop has been included in the Turkey squad which faces Kazakhstan tonight but hasn’t been selected in the starting XI by manager Fatih Terim.
The versatile midfielder has made eight appearances for Galatasaray this season.
