Former Galatasaray manager Frank Rijkard believes that Jurgen Klopp would be a success at Liverpool.
The Reds are currently without a manager after sacking Brendan Rodgers following the 1-1 draw against Everton in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.
Klopp is on the verge of taking over as Liverpool’s new manager and Rijkard has given the German coach his blessings.
“I think Jurgen Klopp has already shown to the world that he is a great coach and a big personality,” he was quoted as saying by Goal.
“So I think he can work in any country, big countries and with big football clubs.”
Rijkard coached Galatasaray during the 2009-10 season but struggled to make an impact as the club was in transition and suffering financial difficulties at the time.
Liverpool currently have two players of Turkish origin on their books in Emre Can and Samed Yeşil.
Can represents Germany at senior international level while Yeşil has the option of playing for either his country of birth – Germany – or Turkey.
The Reds are currently in 10th place on 12 points after eight games in the Premier League.
