Arsenal are keeping tabs on the Hamburg midfielder Tolgay Arslan.
Arsene Wenger is keen to bring in an additional defensive midfielder and has pin pointed the highly rated Bundesliga player Arslan.
The North London team have already established contact with Arslan’s representatives and believed to be offering wages in the region of €60,ooo per-week.
The 24-year-old’s contract with Hamburg runs out at the end of the season but the Bundesliga club are unlikely to let him go in January.
Arslan has also been linked with a move to Galatasaray this week.
The Germany and Turkey U20 international moved to Hamburg from Dortmund in 2009 on a free transfer.
Arslan has started all ten of Hamburg games in the Bundesliga and has made two DFB-Pokal appearances this season.
The hard working midfielder can represent either Turkey or Germany at international level but has vowed to play for the Crescent-Stars.
“I have played for Turkey and Germany at youth level but if Turkey were to give me a call up at senior level I would definitely accept,” Arsenal said.
