Fenerbahce beat Kayserispor 1-0 today at the Kadir Has stadium as a result of Robin van Persie’s sublime free-kick goal.
There was however, some bad news for the Yellow Canaries following the game. Former Manchester United winger Luis Nani picked up an injury that could potentially see him ruled out of the midweek Europa League game against Ajax and the Intercontinental derby against Galatasaray next weekend.
Nani will undergo medical scans today to reveal the severity of his injury but is expected to miss the Europa League game on Thursday.
The Portuguese international joined Fenerbahce from United on a three-year deal over the summer transfer window and has hit the ground running at Turkey establishing himself as a key member in Vitor Pereira’s team.
Nani already has four goals and four assists in all competitions for the Yellow Canaries this season.
The experienced winger was also joined by former United teammate Van Persie at Fenerbahce this summer.
