Galatasaray have started negotiations to extend Wesley Sneijder’s contract according to reports in the Turkish media.
The Netherlands international has two and a half years remaining on his current deal.
Sneijder currently earns €3.2 million per season and receives a €25,000 bonus per appearance.
Galatasaray are not expected to offer Sneijder a pay rise, but are willing to extend him contract until the end of the 2016-17 season.
In a recent interview Sneijder stated that he is happy in Istanbul and has no intention to leave despite reports linking him to Manchester United and Inter.
“As I keep saying over and over again, I am very happy at Galatasaray, I feel at home here at the club among my friends,” Sneijder said.
“I have never considered leaving but the rumours continues.
“All I am focused on is the team.”
The 30-year-old joined Galatasaray from Inter in 2013 for €8 million.
Sneijder Galatasaray to Turkish Cup glory last season and played an important role in Galatasaray reaching the Champions League quarter-finals.
