Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has stated that Mesut Özil is the best player he has ever played with.

Özil has been in fantastic form of late following goals against Manchester United and Bayern Munich.

“I think the best player that I’ve played with is probably Mesut Özil,” Wilshere was quoted as saying by the Daily Star.

“I’ve played with a few good ones and all different types of players but my favourite one and best to play with is probably Mesut.”

Özil has the best ‘games per assist’ record in Premier League history according to statistics published by Opta.

The 27-year-old has provided 93 assists since August 2008, only Lionel Messi has setup more goals over the same time period (98).

Arsenal beat Everton 2-1 at the Emirates over the weekend to move into first place in the Premier League table.
