Galatasaray have made an approach for the Turkish national team assistant manager Hamza Hamzaoğlu.
Hamzaoğlu confirmed that talks with the Istanbul Giants had taken place but that an official offer had not been made.
“I have met with Galatasaray however, no official offer has been made,” Hamzaoğlu said to local reporters.
“They have talked with me but I am sure they have other options too.
“I will have to wait for the TFF to give me permission to talk, Galatasaray would be an opportunity I cannot turn down.”
Hamzaoğlu previously had a successful spell in the Super League as manager of Akhisar Belediyespor
Galatasaray have been on the hunt for a new manager since firing Cesare Prandelli yesterday.
Prandelli fell out of favour with both the club and its supports following a string of disappointing performances and heavy defeats.
Hikmet Karaman and Tugay Kerimoglu have also been linked with the vacant Galatasaray job.
Galatasaray are currently in third place in the Super League with 19 points from 10 games.
