Former Chelsea striker Ba scores 13th Besiktas goal [divider]
Beşiktaş striker Demba Ba took his goal tally to 13 in 16 appearances following the 2-2 draw against Asteras.
Ba put the Black Eagles ahead with a well executed volley.
The Senegalese international could have scored a brace when Beşiktaş were awarded a penalty in the second half.
However, in an act of kindness Ba allowed teammate Gökhan Töre to take the penalty.
“I usually take the penalties,” Ba said.
“But Gökhan came up to me and politely asked if I would let him take this one, he provided me with a brilliant assist so I decided to give him an assist of sorts as well.
“We didn’t get the result we wanted but at the end of the day we are through to the next round.”
The powerful striker has already made history becoming the first Beşiktaş player to score eight goals in eight European competition games within a single season.
Ba joined Beşiktaş on a £6 million move from Chelsea this summer.
