Chelsea are keeping tabs on Beşiktaş striker Mario Gomez according to the Milliyet. The Blues are reported to have sent scouts to keep tabs on the Germany international.
The reigning Premier League champions would however, have to wait until the end of the season according to Beşiktaş president Fikret Orman.
The Istanbul giants do not currently have a permanent deal with the Germany international who is on loan from Fiorentina. The Black Eagles do however, have a release clause which will be activated before the end of the season.
Orman has gone on the record as saying that the club will only consider offers of €20 million for the experienced striker.
“At the end of the season if any club wants Gomez they will have to offer €20m million or more I mean we are talking about a German international striker who has proven himself countless times at the highest level,” Orman was quoted as saying by Radyospor.
Gomez has had a brilliant start to the season at Beşiktaş scoring nine times already this season and has also attracted interest from Manchester United according to the Telegraph.
The 30-year-old was recalled to the Germany national team in Joachim Low’s most recent call up ahead of the international game against France and is likely to be taken to Euro 2016.
