Emre Can played the full 90 minutes in Liverpool’s surprise 4-1 victory over Manchester City in the Premier League.
The 21-year-old started despite enduring a difficult international week with the Germany national team.
The Reds were 3-0 up after just 32 minutes but were pegged back when Aguero scored from range shortly before the break.
However, Martin Skrtel scored the final game of the game giving the visitors a 4-1 win.
The Premier League leaders were unbeaten at home against the Reds in their last six Premier League games and had won 12 of their last 13 home matches before yesterdays defeat.
