Trabzonspor rule out Qatar bid for Manchester United target Waris [divider]
Trabzonspor have rejected a €12 million bid for Majeed Waris according to club president İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu.
“We have received offers for some of our foreign players. A €12 million offer has been made for Waris,” Hacıosmanoğlu said.
“The bid has come from Qatar, but we will not sell him for anything under €20 million. We know Manchester United are monitoring him too.”
Waris is reported to be on United’s shortlist after the Ghanian international and Mehmet Ekici impressed scouts from the Premier League giants in the Europa League.
The 23-year-old revealed that he is pleased that United have shown an interest.
“Manchester United is a big club and to be linked to them gives goose-bumps,” he said.
“I heard it and I read it in the newspapers so it really was a good feeling I must admit.”
The highly rated Ghanian international joined Spartak Moscow in 2013 and spent last season on loan at Ligue 1 outfit Valenciennes where he found the back of the net 10 times as well as providing five assists in 21 appearances.
The 23-year-old forward joined Trabzonspor for £5 million this summer and has one goal and an assist in 16 appearances for the Süper Lig outfit.
