Arsenal beat Everton 5-1 at the Emirates Stadium to keep their unbeaten home record against the Toffees which stretches back to 1996 alive.
Aaron Ramsey scored a hat-trick, Aubameyang netted on his debut and Henrikh Mkhitaryan provided three hat-tricks on his first start.
Mesut Ozil extended his contract to 2021 mid-week, becoming the highest paid player in Arsenal history.
The playmaker did not score or provide an assist against the Toffees but he was still singled out for praise by the Gunners faithful.
We took a look at how Arsenal fans reacted to Ozil’s display on social media.

Mesut Ozil’s passes are amongst the most flawless and accurate in the premier league. But what’s more beautiful than his passes is his work rate (this season).

If you watch the match, you won’t see Ozil but if you watch Ozil, you will see the whole match

January signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan looks like he could take some pressure off Ozil.
So, so good having a second creative player (Mkhi) to take all the pressure off Ozil. Mkhi stepped up hugely, 3 assists! Dream start for our new number 7.

And vice-versa.
Mkhitaryan was able to thread Aubameyang through for his debut goal for Arsenal. the goal was a combination of multiple factors:
-Ozil’s positioning in between the lines skewing Everton’s mid 4 to open lane for Mkhi
-Mkhi’s positioning centrally in b/w the lines pic.twitter.com/JN2DF9oPeB— Football Bloody Hell (@fbhfootball) 3 February 2018
Can we just take a moment to appreciate that pass from Ozil though.
Aubameyang’s missed chance just before scoring. Brilliant pass from Özil pic.twitter.com/nJHxrocAHP
