Liverpool midfielder Emre Can was given a starting role for Germany against San Marino

The central midfielder of Turkish origin put on a pretty decent display but it is worth pointing out that San Marino are ranked 203 in the world.

Germany ended up winning the game 7-0 at home, their sixth consecutive win in the group.

The Germans are first in Group C on 18 points after six games. Can’s side have scored 27 times and conceded just once in the group.

Can’s display generally went down pretty well but we sensed an undertone of sarcasm, not surprising considering the opposition was San Marino.
