Agent Breaks Silence Regarding Leicester City Move For Bundesliga Defender Who Has Been Closely Linked With Arsenal

Leicester City have made an offer and are in talks with Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu according to his agent Mustafa Dogru.

Dogru released a statement making it clear that a deal has yet to be agreed but that talks are underway.

The 22-year-old has been closely linked with a move to several Premier League sides over the summer.

Arsenal had expressed a keen interest in the young defender with head of recruitment Sven Mislintat keen on the rising star.

In fact, the Gunners were reported to have struck a deal earlier in the transfer window but Dogru denied the claims.

Despite Freiburg insisting the defender would stay this summer, Soyuncu and his representatives made it clear that they want to leave, with the Premier League always the preferred destination.

“Reports claiming Caglar or I saying a deal has been struck with Arsenal are false,“Dogru recently told Turkish-Football.

“Arsenal have not held official talks with us, Sven Mislintat is keen on him but we are currently not in direct negotiations with the club.

“We have made it clear to Freiburg that Caglar wants to leave over the summer.

“Clubs from England, Spain and Italy have expressed an interest but they have to reach an agreement with Freiburg first.”

It appears his most likely destination will however, be Leicester.
