Arsenal have stepped up efforts to sign Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu amid growing interest.
Turkish-Football was told by Soyuncu’s agent Mustafa Dogru that four Premier League sides are in talks over his client.
The agent has also disclosed another name in the race, Monaco, who have expressed a keen interest and started preliminary talks.
The Ligue 1 outfit represent growing interest from France, Spain and Italy.
Gunners chief Sven Mislintat had his eye on the rising star since his time at Borussia Dortmund.
The defender is keen on a Premier League move and Arsenal were the first side to make an offer but the two clubs have yet to reach an agreement over his transfer fee.
Dogru confirmed the Gunners want Soyuncu, that an offer has been made but a fee has yet to be agreed.
“Sven Mislintat has been keen on Caglar since he was at Borussia Dortmund,” Dogru said.
“He first scouted him back in Germany.
“Sven is interested in Caglar, there are concrete talks, all that remains is for a fee to be agreed.
“We will see what happens next.”
Freiburg reportedly value Soyuncu in the region of £35 million, the Gunners meanwhile want to settle on a lower fee.
The problem the Bundesliga outfit have is that their star defender’s former club Altinordu stand to make 25 percent of the deal
Soyuncu is under contract with Freiburg for another three-years, giving his current side a strong hand in negotiations.
A total of four Premier League sides have since entered talks with the Turkey international.
Monaco have also made an offer but Dogru made it clear that a Premier League move is a priority.
“There are four Premier League sides who’ve made a move for Soyuncu, that we are in talks with,” he added.
The Premier League sides interested were not name but Dogru did drop a hint. The teams interested finished in the top-half of the table this campaign.
That narrows it down a bit but at this point other that Arsenal and Liverpool the other interested sides remain unknown.
Soyuncu went from playing second tier football in Turkey directly to the Bundesliga where he has excelled over the past two-seasons.
