Arsenal Transfer News: Caglar Soyuncu Deal Yet To Be Agreed Despite Recent Reports

Arsenal looked to be nearing a move for Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu following recent reports in the Turkish media.

“Yes, I received bids from some of the teams in Turkey. I would not be able to give the team a name, but I did not accept it,” Soyuncu was quoted as saying by the Gunes newspaper.

“I do not think playing in Turkey at the moment. I want to continue my career in Europe. But of course we do not know what will happen in the future.

“One day I wear uniform in Turkey, but then this is not necessarily the time.

“My current goal is to achieve greater achievements in a larger team.”

Despite the latest reports we are no closer to an agreement being struck.

Turkish-Football understands that Freiburg are aware of several offers from England, Spain and Italy for the defender.

The Bundesliga club are in no rush to strike a deal as they have another three-years on his contract.

The German side would also have to pay 25 percent of a future deal to his former club.

Freiburg want a high fee for their star man and are not willing to come down in price considering the level of competition.

Arsenal are interested but there is competition from at least four Premier League sides.

Soyuncu himself wants to move to England, all that remains is for an agreement to be reached with Freiburg.

A development is expected in the next week but we are still no closer to discovering who will actually land the deal.
