Lazio midfielder Ogneyi Onazi could be on the move this summer after his agent revealed there has been interest from across Europe for the 23-year-old midfielder.
Onazi’s agent Stephen Makinwa told Turkish-football.com that clubs from the Premier League and England have made enquiries for the 2013 African Cup of Nations winner.
“There are many clubs interested in the Onazi including from England,” Makinwa said.
“He is the captain of the Nigerian national team so it is natural for there to be interested and Besiktas are one of those clubs.”
Makinwa did also state that so far there have only been enquiries and no official offers.
“They just wanted information for now,” he added.
West Ham and Sunderland are in the race for the powerful midfielder according to Nigerian newspaper Punch and Lazio are reported to want at least £7 million.
Onazi does have another two-years remaining on his contract and has no shortage of suitors with the likes of Everton, Southampton, Swansea and Greek giants Panatinaikos all showing an interest.
The 23-year-old made 14 appearances in the Serie A for Lazio last season playing a total of 22 games for Rome based outfit in all competitions.
The Black Eagles are keen on bolstering their midfield over the summer with Atiba Hutchinson set to leave.
Besiktas would be able to offer Makinwa Champions League football and regular first team football if he were to make the move next season.
