Alex de Souza denies Turkish national team assistant manager offer [divider]
Fenerbahçe legend and former Brazil international Alex de Souza has denied reports linking him with the vacant Turkish national team manager role.
Hamza Hamzaoğlu resigned from his position as Terim’s assistant coach to become the next Galatasaray manager, replacing Cesare Prandelli.
“I support Fatih Terim and wish him all the best but rumours that I will be taking over as the Turkish national team assistant coach are false,” Souza said.
“I hope the Turkish national team does well and always want the best for them.”
Alex de Souza spent eight years at Fenerbahce and helped his side win three league titles.
The 37-year-old playmaker scored 104 goals in 398 games for the Yellow Canaries.
Alex made 22 appearances for Coritiba last season.
Turkey are currently fourth in the Euro 2016 Group A after picking up four points from four games.
