Alexander Sorloth breaks Trabzonspor record scoring 29th goal agaisnt Galatasaray

Trabzonspor beat Galatasaray 3-1 at the Turk Telekom Arena in the Super Lig on Sunday.

The victory kept the visitors in the title race, closing the gap with league leaders Basaksehir to just two points.

Alexander Sorloth was yet again the star of the show winning a penalty on 41 minutes and managed to score his sides third and final goal in additional time to put the victory out of sight.

Sorloth broke the foreign player goal record at the club taking his season tally to 29 goals.

The previous record was held by club legend Sota Arveladze.

Sorloth has 21 goals in the league making him the current Super Lig goal king.

Additionally, he also has 10 assists in all competitions this term.

The Crystal Palace loanee has scored against all three big Istanbul sides, Galatasaray, Besiktas and Fenerbahce as well as fellow title challengers Basaksehir this season.

The powerful striker has scored nine times in eight matches against the big three.

Trabzonspor have also booked a place in the Turkish Cup final.

Sorloth is on loan at Trabzonspor but Palace will be unable to recall the Norway international this summer as he is on a two-year temporary deal.

The Black Sea based side also have an option to buy the star striker for just €6m which remains active until the end of next season.
