Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti refuses to address concerns about the impact of limited playing time on 18-year-old starlet Arda Guler’s morale. The young midfielder’s visible frustration on the bench continues as Ancelotti stands by his tactical decisions.
Despite appearing ready to enter the field in a recent match against Sevilla, Guler remained on the sidelines. Ancelotti ultimately prioritized a control-oriented substitution, further delaying Guler’s chance for crucial minutes.

Real Madrid ended up beating Sevilla 1-0 at home recording an important victory in the title race.
Ancelotti dismissed questions about Guler’s situation, emphasizing the player’s need to earn playing time. Guler’s previous displays of frustration and a significant injury impacting his availability continue to shape the manager’s approach.
“I had one thought before Modric’s goal and after the goal I changed my mind. It’s not that complicated and I don’t have to explain this. And if he don’t understand it, it doesn’t matter,” he added.
Guler did spend the first six months of the season out injured but he has since recovered and slowly received more playing time.
The Turkish international has played just 92 minutes of first team football and this has resulted in rumours of a summer exit but there has been no indication from the club that they plan to part ways.
He has had limited minutes but Ancelotti has reiterated his confidence in the attacking midfielder and urged for patience.
Guler has not reacted well in the past to being left on the bench but he has been more disciplined recently.
The 18-year-old will have to stay patient and fight for his place in the team as there is fierce competition for places and we are entering a critical stage of the season.
