Ancelotti Shuts Down Guler Loan Rumors, Praises Youngster’s Impact

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has emphatically denied rumors of a loan move for young midfielder Arda Guler. Following their 1-0 win over Real Sociedad, Ancelotti stated “there’s no doubt” Guler will remain at the club next season.

The 19-year-old has impressed in limited appearances, scoring twice in La Liga this season. Despite his talent, speculation swirled around a potential loan to gain more regular playing time.

Ancelotti, however, praised Guler’s contribution and highlighted the team’s mentality.

“I understand that everyone thought we were coming here for a walk, but the players didn’t and that’s why I’m very proud of them,” he told a press conference.

“They’ve shown commitment, attitude and desire to keep winning and keep the good momentum going. I have to thank them because they have been spectacular.

“Arda also scored a goal and is going to be an important player for the future. There’s no doubt he’s still going to be here next year.”

Guler meanwhile, thanked Ancelotti and the teammates for giving him the opportunity to prove himself against Real Sociedad in what was his first start in the league.

The Turkish international told Real Madrid TV: “I would like to congratulate my teammates and also thank the coach for giving me this opportunity. I’m very happy, this is the best club in the world and I’m happy to be here. The quality of the players is incredible.

“I’m not just working on the physical aspect, but also the mental side of things. I’m calm, I’m waiting.”

With Real Madrid leading La Liga by 14 points and boasting an unbeaten run of 25 games, Ancelotti seems focused on maintaining their momentum. Guler appears to be part of his plans, with a loan exit off the table for now.

Guler will be hoping his performance gets him more playing time this season but regardless he hopes his side get a good result in the Champions League against Bayern Munich.

“The Champions League is always about Real Madrid. I hope we get a good result,” he added.
