Arda Guler got his first start for Real Madrid in La Liga against Real Sociedad yesterday and repaid Carlo Ancelotti with the winning goal.
Following his match-winning goal against Real Sociedad, Arda Güler spoke to Realmadrid TV about his performance and the team’s mentality.

“First and foremost,” Güler began, “First of all, I would like to congratulate my teammates and thank the coach for this opportunity today. I’m very happy to have scored and to have got the win.”
“This is the best club in the world and scoring is one of the best feelings. I’m very happy to be here and to have scored. I’d like to thank everyone.”
“This is Real Madrid, the quality of the players is incredible. We’re all always ready to play and I think we’ve shown that today.”
Guler credited his mental focus after scoring the winning goal against Real Sociedad on Friday.
The Turkish international’s first-half strike secured a crucial 1-0 victory at Anoeta.
This win not only puts Real Madrid in a strong position ahead of their Champions League semi-final first leg against Bayern Munich, but also extends their lead at the La Liga summit to a comfortable 14 points.
“I’m not just working on the physical aspect, but also on the mentality. I’m waiting patiently and I’m still working hard every day. Mentally, I’m focused on continuing to improve.”
“The Champions League has always belonged to Real Madrid. I hope we can get a good result in Munich and play at home with an advantage.”
Guler will be hoping his performance helps convince Ancelotti to give him more regular playing time in the remaining games before the end of the season.
