Arda Turan has got off to a great start to his Barcelona career but his ultimate goal is to win the Champions League at Barcelona.
“My only regret is not winning the Champions League when we were so close in 2014 [losing to Real Madrid after extra time],” Turan told Sabah in an interview.
“We were only a minute and 20 seconds away from it. I tried so hard to be able to play in that final but I couldn’t, despite all the injections and treatments.”
Turan has won just about every other title in club and European competition football including domestic league titles in Spain and Turkey as well as the Europa League and European Super Cup.
The one trophy that has eluded Turan is the Champions League. The bearded winger was however, part of the Atletico Madrid side that reached the final of the competition back in 2014 but was unable to play due to injury.
Barcelona take on Arsenal in the Champions League Last 16 first-leg in February but Turan will only be available for the second-leg due to still serving a suspension from last season.
The Turkish international star was send off against rivals Real Madrid in the Last 16 stage of the competition last season.
