Arsenal 0-1 Swansea: Özil suffers shock defeat

Mesut Özil’s 28th appearance for the Gunners this season ended in a shock 1-0 defeat against Swansea City at the Emirates stadium.

Arsenal went into the game in great form having won nine and drawn just one of their last 10 Premier League matches.

Özil started for the Gunners and despite statistically being the best performing attacking based Arsenal player according to Whoscored he was unable to alter the scoreline.

The 26-year-old proved once again why he is one of the most highly rated distributers in the league with 106 passes at a 93 percent accuracy.

Özil also made five key passes and completed one successful dribble over the 90 minutes.

The World Cup winner has been criticised for his defensive work off the ball this season but he did complete the joint highest number of tackles (2) alongside Alexis Sanchez.
