Arsenal star playmaker Mesut Ozil shared a story of a Kenyan boy who was wearing a self-made Arsenal jersey with Ozil’s name written on the back.

The story initially went viral on social media back in December when Kenyan reporters Eric Njiru shared a photo of the boy on Twitter.

“I saw this kid today grazing in the streets of Nairobi – a city without really grass for cows. He told me he loves Mesut Ozil so much(You can see his shirt). Maybe one day this can reach Ozil and get a real Arsenal shirt.”

Fortunately for the young Gooner, the tweet reached Mesut Ozil. The Arsenal star subsequently sent out an official Arsenal shirt to the young fan and shared the following post on Instagram.

Ozil was part of the Arsenal side which defeated Manchester United by a 2-0 scoreline over the weekend. The north London based club are back in action on Thursday night when they take on Ligue 1 side Rennes in the Europa League.

Arsenal currently sit fourth in the Premier League, two points ahead of fifth-placed Manchester United.
