Arsenal ace reiterates desire to play No 10 role following goal against Newcastle

Arsenal star playmaker Mesut Ozil has reiterated that he enjoys playing in the number ten role.

Gunners boss Unai Emery has hinted at playing Ozil in different roles and did do so in Arsenal’s opening game of the season against Man City.

However, Ozil has stated that he likes to control the game and give assists as he has been since he joined.

“The fans have backed me ever since I arrived five years ago and because of that, I’ve been able to play in my preferred style,” Ozil told Arsenal’s official website.

“I always want to control the game, give assists and help my team. It was like that with me from the start.

“In my position, you have many possibilities playing forward. You can demand the balls, make telling passes or score yourself.”
