Arsenal ‘anxiously awaiting’ update over £23m midfielder target, Gunners want to complete transfer before Euro 2020

Arsenal are ‘anxiously awaiting’ for an update over Orkun Kokcu’s negotiations with Feyenoord over a new contract deal with the Dutch outfit according to Voetbal International.

Per the source, the North London outfit are keen on completing the Kokcu transfer before the European Championships this summer.

Kokcu could end up joining the Turkey national team for Euro 2020.

The 19-year-old has yet to play for the senior national team but there is a possibility he makes the side based on his form this season.

Should Kokcu feature at Euro 2020 it could see his value increase further.

Kokcu currently has two caps for the Turkey U21 side. Prior to that he played for the Netherlands U19 national side.

Despite being born in the Netherlands, Kokcu plays for Turkey as he is eligible due to his parents being Turkish nationals.

The Turkey international is currently valued at £23m.

Feyenoord are, however, keen on keeping Kokcu on and will hold talks with the attacking midfielder over a new deal on improved terms.

Kokcu does have a contract running until 2023 but the Eredivisie side could offer a higher wage to keep him on beyond the end of the season.

The young midfielder is a first-team regular for the Dutch side.

Kokcu has three goals and six assists in 35 appearances for Feyenoord in all competitions this season.
