Arsenal star Mesut Özil has underlined that beating Manchester United 3-0 in their last Premier League game was no fluke result.
Özil was asked whether the result was just down to good luck in a recent interview with the BILD.
The World Cup winner responded by saying: “It was definitely not a fluke. I am in great shape and have no aches and pains in my knees anymore. I always want to be successful and provide more assists and score more and did so.”
The win moved Arsenal into second place just two points behind league leaders Manchester City.
The 26-year-old scored his first goal of the season against United and also setup Alexis Sanchez with an assist for the opening goal.
Özil has now scored and provided an assist in the same game four times in his Arsenal career.
The Arsenal star averages the highest number of key passes in the top five leagues across Europe according to Whoscored – England, Spain, Germany, Italy, France.
Özil has averaged 4.4 key passes per-game this season which suggests that with better finishing from the Arsenal forwards his assist tally should increase significantly
