Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has stated that Mesut Ozil was a bargain at £40 million.
The experienced French manager went onto praise the 27-year-old’s recent form stating that he is scoring as well as assisting in recent weeks.
“I spent £40 million on Ozil and it was a bargain because he is a top player,” Wenger stated at a news conference ahead of his team’s match away to Norwich City on Sunday.
“He is not just a provider now, he likes to get on the end of things.”
Ozil joined the Gunners from Real Madrid back in September 2013 for a club record fee. The Germany international endured a difficult first season in London but has been in a rich vein of form recently.
The former Real Madrid man has scored goals against Manchester United and Bayern Munich as well as breaking the Premier League assist record.
Arsenal take on Norwich city this weekend as they look to get back to winning ways in the league following the defeat against West Brom last Saturday.
