Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stated that he has a verbal agreement with both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez over new contracts, according to the Metro.

The French tacticain has stated that the duo have told him that they want to remain at the Emirates.

Both Mesut Ozil and Sanchez – who both has 18 months remaining on their current contracts – are yet to put pen to paper over new deals.

Wenger went onto say that he is ‘certain’ that Sanchez will sign a contract extension with Arsenal.

“(Ozil and Sanchez) tell me they want to stay,” Wenger told BeIN Sports.

“Alexis is a committed player and I am certain (we will reach an agreement).”

Meanwhile the Daily Mail report that Arsenal players are worried that Sanchez may be ready to quit the Gunners after the Chile international expressed his displeasure following the 3-3 draw with Bounemouth.

The Mirror goes onto say that the duo want pay-rises to more than £200,000 a week, which exceeds the Gunners strict wage policy.

Arsenal take on Preston this weekend in the FA Cup and face Swansea on the Premier League next weekend.
