Arsenal suffered a crushing 3-0 defeat against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday at Wembley Stadium.
Gary Neville did not hold back in his criticism of the Gunners performance on day, describing Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey and Granit Xhaka as being an ‘absolute disgrace’.
Neville labeled Arsenal’s stars as ‘spineless’ and singled out Ramsey, Ozil and Xhaka for walking during the game when they should have been working their socks off to track the City stars who ran amock.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger launched a defence of his players who came under attack from the former Manchester United star in his pre-match press conference against City on Thursday.
“You could find that on both teams,” Wenger said.
“You can always get out pictures from a game where you justify what you are thinking.
“Why? Has he made runs in behind before? Did he not track because he didn’t want to track?
“We have to live with that criticism and respond together.”

Ozil had just 48 touches on the ball and his pass accuracy was 76 percent – way below his average of 87 percent.
The playmaker of Turkish origin failed to pull off a single key pass, in fact, he only managed 38 passes in total.
On the defensive end he failed to make a single tackle, interception or clearance.
Ozil is however, expected to keep his place in the Arsenal side when the North London based outfit take on City on Thursday for the second time in four days.
