Arsenal Boss Unai Emery Responds To Reports Of Bust-Up With Mesut Ozil

Arsenal boss Unai Emery has denied reports of a bust-up between himself and star playmaker Mesut Ozil.

Ozil missed Arsenal’s clash with West Ham United on Saturday. The official explanation given was an illness however, The Times has claimed that a training ground argument occurred between Emery and the 29-year-old.

When asked about the rumours during the post-match press conference, Emery insisted that Ozil missed the game due to an illness.

“It isn’t true, that information. I don’t know who started it. If you ask me, the doctor, or the club, he was sick,” Emery told reporters.

“He left training because he was going home. He was sick. Today he was here. I said come if you feel better and he felt better. Before the match he was with the team and with me. No problem with the player. Ask the doctor, he can explain better.”

Arsenal registered a 3-1 victory over the Hammers in Ozil’s absence. The Gunners will be hoping to record back-to-back wins when they take on the newly promoted Cardiff City next weekend.
