Arsenal close to agreeing new deal with star playmaker amid Man United links

Arsenal star playmaker Mesut Ozil appears to be nearing a contract extension with the north London based club.

Ozil currently has under five months remaining on his contract with the Gunners and could end up leaving the club for free in the summer.

The Germany international has, however, remained professional and has maintained impressive form throughout the contract dispute.

According to Football.London, Arsenal are confident of extending Ozil’s contract in the near future. Per the source, the deal could be announced soon.

The 29-year-old is in-line to receive a major pay increase, however, the terms of the new deal are still unclear.

Ozil has also been linked with a move to Arsenal’s rivals Manchester United in recent days.
