Galatasaray boss Jan Olde Riekerink is looking to strengthen his side following the Lion’s victory over rivals Besiktas in the Super Cup final.
The Dutch tactician is keen to re-sign Jason Denayer on loan from Manchester City. Sources close to the player has told Turkish-Football that Riekerink wants to sign Denayer on a loan deal as soon as possible, ideally before the beginning of the season.
The 21-year-old is no stranger to the Turkish league after establishing himself as a first team favourite at Galatasaray last season.
However, Galatasaray may face competition for the Belgium international as The Sun state that the Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is interested in signing Denayer as a solution for his defensive crisis. The Gunners shipped in four goals against Liverpool at the Emirates in their opening Premier League game of the season during their 4-3 defeat.
The Sun goes onto state that if City were to sell Denayer it would cost clubs interested £12 million.
