Arsenal Could Derail Transfer After Demanding £5m For World Cup Star Heading For Emirates Exit, Super Lig Giants Urge Price Decrease

Besiktas have been in talks with Arsenal over David Ospina for weeks but negotiations could be derailed after the North London outfit demanded £5m for the keeper according to the Aksam newspaper.

Per the source, the Gunners have upped their asking price at the last minute for the Colombian international.

Talks between Besiktas and Arsenal have dragged on but unlike the Premier League the Super Lig transfer window shuts at the end of August giving the Black Eagles time to complete a move.

The report does raise the possibility of the Istanbul giants keeping on Tolga Zengin as first-choice stopper.

Besiktas sold Fabri to Fulham last month leaving second-choice keeper Tolga Zengin to fill his boots.

The problem is Zengin has his critics among the fans and the board.

Sources at the club have made it clear to Turkish-Football that a new keeper, No 10 and striker are priority transfers this summer.

Besiktas have actually made headway with Arsenal over Ospina, the club and player are open to the move.

The World Cup star for Colombia has dropped into third-choice in the pecking order behind Bernd Leno and Petr Cech and is expected to leave in pursuit of first-team football as a result.

Besiktas have not however, been able to agree on a price with Arsenal or wages with Ospina, as of yet.

Besiktas have also been in talks with Liverpool over loaning Simon Mignolet and the permanent transfer of Bursaspor keeper Harun Tekin.
