Arsenal Eye Fenerbahce Star After Sending Scout to Turkiye

Former sporting director Ceyhun Kazancı sparked speculation surrounding Arsenal’s potential interest in Fenerbahçe left-back Ferdi Kadıoğlu, revealing the Gunners sent a scout to Istanbul to watch him in action.

Speaking to Habertürk, Kazancı said, “Recently, Arsenal’s scout was here. He watched a player from Fenerbahçe. There has already been news about Ferdi Kadıoğlu. It’s not a lie.”

Kadıoğlu, a Turkish international known for his attacking prowess and dynamism down the left flank, has become a hot property in recent months. The news of Arsenal’s interest adds further fuel to the transfer fire, leaving Fenerbahçe fans both apprehensive and hopeful.

The Turkish international has been closely linked with Arsenal this season in the Turkish media.

The 25-year-old was born in the Netherlands and has Dutch, Canadian and Turkish citizenship but represents the Crescent-Stars at international level.

The left back – who can also play as a right-back and on either wing -joined Fenerbahce back in 2018 and has gone on to score 16 goals and provide 20 assists in 173 games across all competitions for the Super Lig outfit.

The full-back has been in good form for the Süper Lig leaders with two goals and three assists in 24 games in all competitions this season.

Kadıoğlu is expected to play for the Turkish national team in the European championships this summer which could see his value increase further.

Fenerbahce want to keep him on until at least the end of the season and he is under contract until 2026.
