Arsenal Eye Move For Juventus Defender Merih Demiral, Serie A Giants Want Over €30m

Arsenal have made contact with the representatives of Juventus defender Merih Demiral a source close to the player informed Turkish-Football in a face-to-face meeting.

The Gunners first registered an interest in Demiral over the summer before his move to Juventus.

The north London outfit have been making enquiries regarding the availability of Demiral ahead of the January transfer window.

Juventus are not keen to sell the young defender despite his lack of playing time but could consider offers over €30m.

A loan move until the end of the season is another option for the Serie A outfit but Arsenal are keen on a permanent move.

Demiral is keen on playing Premier League football in the future but only joined Juventus over the summer from Sassuolo on an €19m move.

The 21-year-old has made just one start for Juve this season but he has excelled for Turkey in the European Championship qualifiers.

The 1.91m tall defender was named in the UEFA Euro 2020 Team of the Week after his impressive defensive display against world champions France last month.

Turkey managed to hold the world champions to a 1-1 draw at the Stade de France on in the Euro 2020 qualification Group H which saw them top the group with just two games remaining.

In total Turkey have taken four points off France over the course of the qualification campaign with Demiral putting in impressive performance in both games.
