Arsenal Face Competition For World Cup Star After Entering Talks With Damien Comolli Over Fenerbahce Move

Tottenham v Arsenal

Arsenal face growing competition for goalkeeper David Ospina.

Mexican club Tigres have become the latest club to enter the race for the keeper.

Closs Continental claim that Tigres want the Colombian international as they are searching for a new stopper.

Fenerbahce have also been closely linked with the 29-year-old who is under contract until 2019.

Turkish-Football understands that recently appointed sporting director Damien Comolli is set to hold talks with the North London outfit.

Fenerbahce have made signing a new goalkeeper a priority over the summer.

Comolli has close ties to Arsenal from his days at the club and wants to make use of his Premier League contacts in the transfer market this summer.

The keeper played second-fiddle to Petr Cech in the Premier League this season and with the Gunners being linked a move for Bayer Leverkusen keeper Bernd Leno it looks like Ospina could fall further down the pecking order.

Football journalist Kike Marin reports that Gunners manager Unai Emery wants Leno.

The German keeper has spent the past seven years at Bayer Leverkusen and has a £22 million release clause.

Ospina is currently on international duty with Colombia ahead of the 2018 World Cup.

The keeper made a total of 21 appearances in all competitions for the North London outfit this season.

It remains to be seen what plans Emery has for the Colombian next season.
