Arsenal fans react on social media to Martin Keown’s onslaught against Mesut Ozil
Arsenal fans have taken to social media to react to Martin Keown’s onslaught against Mesut Ozil.
The star playmaker played the full 90 minutes during Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat at the hands of Stoke City on Saturday. Following the game, Keown and Steven Gerrard ripped into Ozil’s performance during the post-game analysis on BT Sport.
Keown went onto double down on his criticism of Ozil in his Daily Mail column. The football pundit branded Ozil as the ‘most frustrating’ player ever to wear an Arsenal shirt.
The former Arsenal defender received a mostly hostile reception from fans on social media with man questioning why Ozil was being singled out for criticism.

Practically half the current #Arsenal squad ghost in and out during each game, so it's unfair to single out Ozil. Bottom line – no leaders.

for a dude making millions from punditry, its surely baffling that u associate "running with menace" and running at players with Ozils game.

A miracle @martinkeown5 has made a career out of punditry. 'Spurs can finish Chelseas season tomorrow' he called on Saturday. ?

Leave Ozil alone…

Ozil is probably the smartest man on that pitch football wise,he isn't being used to his full potential

Reactive, populist rubbish. Standard of football punditry will never improve with goons like savage, owen, cascarino, keown et al.

What of Walcott?

Keown would never criticize Wenger the way he criticizes ozil

However, some fans did agree with Keown.

Ozil has under 12-months remaining on his current contract with Arsenal and is yet to agree an extension.
Arsenal face a tough away trip up north this weekend when they take on Liverpool at Anfield. The Reds recorded a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.
