Arsenal flop Mathieu Debuchy matches Gunners star goal tally for season

Arsenal flop and France international Mathieu Debuchy has been revitalised by a return to Ligue 1.

The attacking right-back left the north London based side on a free-transfer after a dismal spell at Arsenal.

Debuchy joined Ligue 1 side St Etienne in January and is now the top-scoring defender in Europe’s top five leagues. The former Arsenal fullback has netted four goals since joining St Etienne making him Europe’s most prolific defender.

Interestingly Debuchy has now scored as many league goals this season as his former Arsenal teammate Mesut Ozil.

Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid) – 3

Ozil has also netted four goals in the Premier League this season but also nine assists this season. Arsenal are back in action this weekend when they take on their London rivals West Ham United.

The 29-year-old was rested last week after helping Arsenal book their place in the Europa League semi-finals against CSKA Moscow on Thursday.
