Arsenal in Talks With Fenerbahce Star, Agreement Likely

Arsenal are reportedly nearing a transfer agreement for Fenerbahce left-back Ferdi Kadioglu, according to Turkish journalist Devrim Zengi reporting for Karar. This news follows previous speculation linking the 24-year-old with a move to North London.

Per the source, Arsenal are in talks with Kadioglu and the reporter believes that an agreement has been reached.

Zengi claims that after talking with Kadioglu’s father he is under the impression that a deal is in place and that the player will join the Gunners.

The Gunners’ interest in strengthening their left-back position is well known. While Oleksandr Zinchenko arrived from Manchester City last season, his performances haven’t consistently met expectations.

While technically skilled, lapses in his defensive play have led manager Mikel Arteta to sometimes use either Jakub Kiwior (a center-back) or Takehiro Tomiyasu (a right-back) as makeshift left-backs.

Kadioglu, is no stranger to European football having being born in the Netherlands and establishing himself in Dutch football before moving to Fenerbahce.

Additionally, he has reportedly impressed Arsenal scouts with his performances in Turkey.

While a slight risk considering his lack of experience at the highest level, the Gunners seem to believe he has the potential to flourish in the Premier League.

Should the reported agreement come to fruition, Kadioglu would provide Arsenal with a more natural left-back option, potentially adding defensive solidity alongside his attacking capabilities.
