Arsenal in talks with Turkish giants over sale of star striker in January – Leicester City’s Slimani also being targeted
Besiktas have held talks with Arsenal star striker Danny Welbeck’s representatives in London.
The Istanbul giants are keen to sign a striker following the departure of Cenk Tosun earlier this month. The Turkey international completed his move to Everton last week and made his debut against Tottenham on Saturday,
According to the Turkish outlet Fanatik, Besiktas official Ali Naibi flew into London last week to hold talks with both Welbeck and Islam Slimani’s agent. The Black Eagles are keen to sign one of two strikers in January.
Per the source, Besiktas have also held talks with Arsenal and want to loan the striker until the end of the season, with an option to buy included.
Besiktas are keen on Welbeck as the star striker hasn’t featured in the UEFA Champions League this season and will be eligible to play in their high-profile fixture against Bayern Munich in February.
