Arsenal are leading the race to sign the Germany U19 international star Kai Havertz.
The Bayer Leverkusen star has netted seven goal in 51 appearances since breaking into the first team back in 2016.
Havertz has been closely linked with a move to the Premier League in recent weeks. According to the Sun, Liverpool and Southampton are both involved in the race to sign the star midfielder.
However, the report states that Arsenal are leading the race to sign the 18-year-old.
Per the source, the north London based club have sent scouts to monitor the young midfielder during Germany’s Under-19 5-2 defeat to Norway last week.
Havertz recently admitted that he idolises Arsenal’s star playmaker Mesut Ozil.
“I look up to Mesut Ozil. He plays football the way I like it,” Havertz was quoted as saying bu the Sun.
“He’s always calm with the ball, never stressed. I love watching his games.”
Arsenal registered a 3-0 win over Stoke City on Sunday evening. The Gunners are back in action when they take on CSKA Moscow in the Europa League quarter-finals on Thursday.
