Arsenal legend reveals Wenger’s priority must be extending Ozil & Sanchez contract before signing new players
Arsenal legend Robert Pires has revealed that Arsene Wenger must prioritise extending the contract of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez before signing new players.
Ozil and Sanchez have 12 months remaining on their contract but has yet to sign a new deal.
Pires underlined that sorting out the future of the star duo must come first before going on a spending spree.

“This summer for Arsene Wenger is very important,” Pires was quoted as saying in the Express.
“In my opinion, he needs to try to extend the contracts of Alexis and Mesut Ozil. This is the first thing, and after of course you need to sign new players.”
Ozil is currently on holiday in Turkey but is expected to join Arsenal for their pre-season Australia tour.
Neither Ozil nor Sanchez have yet to confirm whether they will sign a new deal or not which has led to speculation regarding their future at the club.
The star duo were the Gunners best performing players last season.
Ozil racked up 14 assists and netted 12 goals over the 2016-17 season.
Sanchez set up 19 goals and found the back of the net 29 times for the Gunners.
The duo have been directly responsible for 74 of Arsenal’s goals over the last campaign.
